Audio Exercise: The 4-7-8 method
Your breath is a powerful tool. When used properly, it can reduce stress, improve concentration and promote overall calm.
The 4-7-8 breath method has its origins in the ancient yoga tradition and is a form of Pranayama – which means “extension of the life force” in Sanskrit. Pranayama includes various techniques to calm the body and mind and balance life energy. It is important to remember that, as with any new skill, breathwork takes practice. If you struggle with the time intervals at first, be patient. Your body adapts. With regular practice, it will feel more and more natural.
